"Wall of Reflection" Amanda Loomis

  1. I am very interested in your approach to a green wall as being composed of plants as well as other materials. As I think of other green walls made by green wall companies, it seems that they have not considered other materials at all, and have a simplified view of vegetative surfaces as being just green. In painting, graphic design, and landscape it is important to consider negative space as well as the figure that composes the space.
Since the origin of yuor reflective material is a light fixture, I am also interested in the potential for plants to enter into the building and become incorporated into other building systems such as lighting, partitions, and light wells. As technology for full spectrum bulbs, fiber optic lighting, and passive lighting techniques become more effectively integrated into building design, so to may plants.
