I think the system you have developed is 100% scalable to most residential projects, and I look forward to seeing it at full scale at the federal courthouse garden entrance. Even as your mental and rendered image is materialized, it is important to remember to continue designing and responding to new information such as a revised footing or mesh scale. The gabion system is perfectly suited to this application, and the basic horticulture seems like it will produce lush growth... At this point i am questioning the use of sedum after our conversation with ann, and I encourage you to consider edibles as well as a variety of other plants.. lets dive into this detail after the system is assembled.
ReplyDeleteI think you have designed an aestheticaly stunning and functional system, and the scale seems close to perfect for most residential garden enclosures. One of my favorite details is found in the irrigation concept, where you reveal the expressive potential of irrigation systems and water movement. This distinguishes your work from others in terms of systemic transparency. This is 100% appropriate since the gabion inherently exposes its inner components, and a green gabion wall seems like it should do the same.
I strengthens your project. Our world has become more green, we must protect it, we have no other place to be. Think about it, that every man will give a bit more attention to the matter.

Living in the Las Vegas valley, I think this gabion wall will provide a wonderful and unique vertical growing surface for succulents and other low water use plants. I hope to use these plans to provide both artistic and functional structures. Thanks for providing the plans and the wonderful idea!
